PR8 Ponta de São Lourenço, there is a new update as of today, October 2, 2026:
- 🟢 The hike is still open.
- 🚧 Small temporary diversions have been introduced because rehabilitation works started September 30.
- The diversions are signposted with arrows, and the official guidance is to follow the marked route rather than the usual trail line.
- The works are expected to continue for at least 270 days.
- The hike remains about 8 km return, with roughly 2½ hours walking time and moderate difficulty.
- A reservation/payment is required for PR8; the current listed fee is €4.50 for visitors over 12.
